A successful and interesting evening with new Green MP for North Herefordshire, Ellie Chowns (2nd frm lft) & Chairman of the National Farmers Union Herefordshire Martin Williams(far rght nxt to member Ali Parker.)
The event took place at Pearl Lake & included a tour of the park with around a hundred NFU members. They were shown what we'd achieved at the park over our 25yrs, a great example of farming diversification and how tourism & rural affairs can work hand in hand.
Glenn Jones MD Discover Parks (left)- "It's always fulfilling to tell the family story of how we got to where we are today. It's a difficult and challenging time in agriculture, feeding an evergrowing nation while keeping nature at the forefront. Tourism provides vital funds that support many agricultural businesses and brings enormous revenue and employment to the county. It's important we get the balance right."
The evening included engaging debate on agricultural issues including intensive chicken farming, tenant farming, 5G network, broadband, artificial intelligence, tourism & highway.
