Guest Experience Team

Do you have a passion for customer service? Are you someone that strives for perfection? If so, we would love to hear from you. Oh, and this role comes with the benefit of working at our three stunning holiday parks in the Herefordshire / Welsh Border countryside. Sounds interesting? Keep reading!

This is a customer-facing role where your key responsibilities would include the whole guest experience with us, from taking bookings, welcoming guests to Park, selling luxury holiday homes, dealing with any guest and holiday home owner enquiries, and everything else in between and beyond! Customer communication and team work is therefore a key requirement of this position.

Due to the nature of the parks and teamwork being at the forefront of our business, you may be required to ‘muck-in’ with other departments as and when required! No two days are the same at Discover Parks!

The ideal person for this role will be someone that loves being hands on and helping others. You must be a confident decision maker, who loves solving problems and must have good IT skills.

As we are a holiday park, open 7 days a week, weekend working is required. To apply for this role, you must hold a full driving licence.

Key responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • The happiness and enjoyment of our guests
  • Ensuring all guests and visitors receive a warm welcome and an outstanding level of customer service to ensure we meet and exceed our visitors’ expectations
  • Supporting the smooth and efficient running of the Park reception and performing front-of-house duties, including phonecalls, emails and face-to-face enquiries
  • Working closely with the Ownership Team, assisting in dealing with ownership enquiries, carrying out show rounds
  • Meeting and greeting guests, including arrivals and sales prospects
  • Dealing with check-ins, problems and guest queries promptly, effectively and efficiently
  • Assist with maximising bookings and other revenue
  • Work with our sustainability officer and be mindful of sustainability, promoting sustainable practices where possibl
  • Undertake General reception and administration duties

Park & Construction Operative

Have you got a keen eye for all things construction related? Discover Parks are on the hunt for a new member of the construction team to help keep our group of Holiday Parks up to their 5* standard. If you have experience in using plant equipment and reversing trailers and have a history of working within a construction/agricultural position, then we would love to hear from you!

The successful applicant will be part of a supportive maintenance team based on our three beautiful, family-run, 5-star holiday parks. Discover Parks is a long-established family-owned business that offer unique country holiday parks in tranquil, welcoming surroundings, with on-site leisure facilities.

We offer a great working environment which includes free use of our leisure facilities (including golf course, fishing lake, bowls, woodland walks), discounted meals at our Lakeside bar and bistro and a Health and Welfare employee benefits package, together with support in your career path, through training and personal development.

You must be able to take instruction on a wide number of tasks, from general ground maintenance, ground excavation, construction and construction of ground works and using a variety of plant equipment. You will have a ‘can do’ attitude, flexible approach, and be willing to help other team members when necessary to ensure the smooth operation of the Park.

Problem-solving, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic should come naturally to you, with a focus on positive outcomes. We are looking for someone who is hard-working, positive, has pride in their work and has a healthy sense of humour.

Responsible for:

  • Maintaining the 5* standard of our landscaped grounds, including holiday home siting and hard landscaping
  • Maintain, improve, and develop holiday home plots, leisure facilities, properties and groundworks
  • Assist with Holiday Home movements around park
  • Provide support for on-park building projects and developments
  • Carrying out and monitoring of machine and equipment checks, ensuring safe operation
  • General maintenance and preparation for events
  • Assist in co-ordinating maintenance tasks within the team
  • Assist with projects within the construction team
  • Ensure all aspects of your work and work area are safe
  • Assist in dealing with customer queries and problems promptly and efficiently
  • Be aware of the effects of your work on the customers around you (eg disruption, noise, inconvenience)
  • Maintain cleanliness and tidiness at all times and leave work areas and machinery in a safe manner
  • Be aware that by working on the park you are part of the sales team - your actions and attitude make a difference
  • Maintain all public areas to a high standard of safety
  • Identify potential risks and hazards around the Park and carry out risk assessments
  • Use the correct equipment and materials as trained and for the appropriate reason
  • Attend training courses as required

Essential skills/requirements and behaviours:

  • Health & Safety conscious at all times
  • Working in all weather conditions
  • Experienced in the use of plant equipment and accessories
  • Flexible approach
  • Professional manner, appearance, and teamwork ethic
  • Confident communicator with attention to detail
  • Full clean driving license

Desirable skills:

  • Construction/agricultural background
  • Plant equipment certification
  • 3 years ground maintenance/construction experience.
